FORGING DIVISION ENGINEERING CAPABILITIES

VX solid modeling and drafting package is used to fulfill our design needs. Generally, we work from our customer supplied information either a 2-D proposal drawing or 3-D model of the desired product. Lake City's Engineering and Product Development Department will then enhance the design to maximize quality and manufacturability at the least cost. We employ an advanced quality program which involves collaboration between Engineering, Manufacturing which functions to minimize cost and maximize order turnaround efficiency.In addition, our CNC capability enables us to quickly produce models of conceptual forgings as samples for prospective customers. In many instances, Lake City can produce these models in a very short time after the initial customer contact. Our Engineering Department also leads efficiency improvement projects, and constantly works on manufacturing cost savings.
